Golden Gate Wine is dedicated to introducing new California, Oregon, Washington and other fine wines to Hong Kong and the region. The food and wine environment in HK is sophisticated and exciting, but we felt it was time to boost the choice of American wines, and those from California in particular. We have introduced a wide selection, reflecting the fine quality and variety found today at small and medium sized wineries on the West Coast.
With a steady and continuous growth in wine consumption in Hong Kong and China, people are developing a taste for good wine as a delicious accompaniment to food, and to Asian food in particular.

Toby Marion, who founded the company with his wife, Eileen, produced his first wine as a Peace Corps volunteer in Afghanistan in the early seventies. His production included three vintages of (rather poor) Chardonnay and a constant supply of homemade arak, made from fermented raisins and molasses! The Marions spent over 30 years working for multinationals in Asia before deciding that wine could be more than a hobby. |
